Stockist of the Month | Fair Share Soho

Situated in the heart of Soho, Fair Share first opened its doors in February 2005.

A fantastic little gift shop selling all sorts of fair trade goodies, Fair Share was established by Hope Community Church, and is run by Pastor Andrew Murray with a group of friendly volunteers. www.westendhope.moonfruit.com

Fair Share are one of Just Trade’s first and longest standing stockists, they have been faithful customers since the start, always interested in hearing stories about our wonderful producers and always willing to give any new ranges we developed a chance. They will go down in history as one of the few customers brave enough to stock our infamous crocheted potato brooches!!

Every time I visit Fair Share, I inevitably end up stocking up on cards and presents. Some of our favourites are the beautifully made wooden toys from fellow BAFTS members Lanka Kade colourful acrylic and pewter jewellery from Fair Grounds.

If you are looking for the perfect game for the all the family this Christmas we can highly recommend Pucket! It’s a classic wooden game that everyone loves. Described as the most vigorous and frantic table game you will ever play ….and recommended by Pippa Middleton as, a crucial game for every family Christmas – but beware, it can get more aggressive than monopoly! (or maybe that’s just my family!)

102 Berwick street was previously a Butchers shop and until a couple of years ago they have had still confused customers coming in at this time of year trying to order their Christmas Turkey’s!

Sadly, Fair Share will be closing down in February next year, almost 10 years to the day since it first opened. Intense redevelopment planned in and around Berwick Street has made continuing to run the shop unviable. Fair Share will be sorely missed by regular customers and the local community alike, but we are sure it will be remembered for years to come. Maybe whoever takes over the space in the future will have confused customers popping in before Christmas trying to buy a game of Pucket before heading out of town for the festive season!
