Rural Threads Purse

The collection includes a range of tote bags and purses, each made from hand-loomed, hand-dyed organic or upcycled cotton. Every piece is then hand-embroidered with simple yet striking motifs, showcasing a variety of traditional stitches. The designs draw inspiration from the women’s everyday lives and the natural beauty of their surroundings. 

This thoughtfully handcrafted collection is made by the women of Thanapara Swallows, a Guaranteed Member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). Based in rural Bangladesh, the organisation provides training and sustainable employment to around 300 women, offering meaningful, dignified work that supports family life.

Materials: Made from organic cotton outer with cotton voil lining. Organic cotton thread is used for the embroidery and all dyes used are azo free.
