This week, Lucy, Sophie & Ruth attended the FLUX conference, dedicated to responsible sourcing in the jewellery industry, held in The Assay Office, Birmingham.
This was the second annual FLUX conference, which is organised by Jewellers and passionate individuals from related industries. Flux offers a platform for discussion, providing an atmosphere of collaboration between open-minded individuals.
Day 1 focussed on a range of topics relating to sustainable sourcing in the jewellery sector. We heard from some of the best ethical jewellers in the world, including Harriet Kelsall, Anna Loucah and Arabel Lebrusan.
Day 2 looked at wider issues within the industry including the supply chain, human rights and environmental impact. We heard from big brands including Pandora and global initiatives with Maggie Gabos, who had travelled from America to tell us more about The Jewellery Industry Summit.
It was lovely to meet with old friends and make new ones, who share the ethical values of Just Trade. We are looking forward to next years conference already!
