Stockist of the Month | South London Gallery

The South London Gallery was founded in 1891 and is home to free contemporary art exhibitions and exciting live art events. As well as a beautiful gallery of temporary exhibitions showcasing fantastic artists, the SLG is home to a lovely cafe and restaurant No. 67, and shop, where our jewellery is sold! We were lucky enough to meet SLG’s Shop Manager, Jack, for lunch to ask him a few questions over a bagel.

We asked Jack for an interesting fact about the SLG:

“The gallery was the first venue to exhibit Tracey Emin’s ‘tent’ installation ‘Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963-1995′, which was later destroyed in a fire at an art storage warehouse”.

Tell us a little about the SLG shop:

“The South London Gallery opened its shop in 2010, and until recently, was solely a bookshop. However it has recently expanded into giftwares and aims to sell more independent publications. SLG have been stocking Just Trade jewellery for the last four months and are the shop’s best selling jewellery range, with the Triangle Pendant as best seller. Just Trade jewellery fits in well in the SLG shop, and is liked by staff and customers alike.”

Who are your other favourite suppliers?

Stormy Knight for greetings cards and notebooks, Garudio Studiage for fun, unique gifts and both Flying Eye Books & Pushkin Press for beautiful books.”

Currently showing is the Isabelle Cornaro exhibition Paysage Avec Poussin until Monday 5th April, get down and see it!
