Today we got to visit the marvellous Quaint & Belle just up the road from our Peckham studio. We went to ask one of our favourite stockists, Jacqueline a few questions about her lovely shop. Originally a pop up shop, meant to only last 6 weeks, Quaint & Belle has grown into a thriving permanent fixture of Bellenden Road. Hailing from Liverpool.. owner, Jacqueline came from a fashion illustration background, so has an eye for design. The business was set up to promote small independent designers, but as the shop has grown, the product base has broadened to quite an eclectic mix.
How long has Quaint & Belle been in business?
“Almost 2 years.. actually it’s going to be our 2nd Birthday on the 12th of December! We’re going to be holding a party to celebrate with mulled on the 10th.” (Keep an eye on Quaint & Belle’s Twitter for more info on their party)
What is your favourite product in the shop?
“The Just Trade jewellery of course! I really love the new Tagua Badger, but I do wear it all!”
As well as selling Just Trade products, the shop sells an array cards, stylish home accessories and gifts. Some of Jackie’s other favourite items in the shop include an amazing gold print of Battersea Power Station, and her vast selection of flowers and plants out at the front of the shop.
What’s your favourite thing about South London?
“I’ve lived all over London, but have fallen in love with this area. It’s creative, interesting and friendly. Theres a real community atmosphere. It’s like a little bit of Liverpool, in Peckham.”
What’s in store for Quaint & Belle in the future?
“There are some exciting plans to expand… but they are currently top secret.”
