A Grade II listed building, the Barbican Centre is the largest performing arts venue in Europe! Within the complex Brutalist architecture, such a wealth of activities occur, I don’t know where to start…
Not only does the Barbican boast an art gallery, multiple theatre halls, 3 cinemas, a library a conservatory and 3 restaurants, but they hold thousands of offsite events all with the intent to engage new audiences, inspire and push boundaries.
‘Once the Centre was completed, the City of London could indeed be proud of its achievement, described at the time as the ‘City’s gift to the nation.’ - Henry Wrong CBE
Last year, the Barbican celebrated it’s 30th birthday and played a major role in the Cultural Olympiad and London 2012 Festival with a groundbreaking programme featuring Tanztheater Wuppertal (Pina Bausch), Cate Blanchett and Wynton Marsalis.
Alongside selling our products in the Barbican’s beautiful shop, this is the 2nd year running that we have been invited to partake in their Christmas Design Market. Curated by the Barbican and the amazing Louise Kamara, the market consists of a handpicked selection of London’s finest independent makers and artisans.
28 November 2013 – 22 December 2013
Sat & Sun 12pm–8.30pm
