Launched in August 2006, Ascension is a new range of street wear combining cutting-edge fashion and eco-friendly ethical production, aimed at fashion conscious young people who care as much about the environment and poor working conditions as they do about the cut of their jeans.   

 

The average high yield cotton field needs 8 to 12 applications of pesticides, making the cotton industry the world's largest user of pesticides. These chemicals are neither good for the environment nor for the cotton workers.   Growing cotton organically saves over 22,000 workers lives per year and will keep over three million from becoming chronically ill with respiratory problems. Ascension Clothing is made from organic cotton grown without pesticides- clothing that can save lives as well as improving the environment.

Ascension Clothing is made in a certified fair trade factories, which provide jobs for local people and support additional social projects to improve the quality of life. 

Profits from Ascension Clothing support Life Association Welfare, a registered charity whose main aim is to provide shelter, health care and education for a growing number of street children in Andhra Pradesh, one of the poorest areas in India.  So far two schools and an orphanage have been built and continue to be supported by Life Association Welfare.
