Fair trade fashion has definitely shaken off its hippy-chic image and is appealing to younger and more mainstream markets. Much of this is due to young designers and fashion students taking an interest in the ethics of where their clothes are made.
This spring, a number of student groups are putting on events showcasing ethical fashion. By sponsoring these fashion shows, Just Trade can envision students about the power of fair trade to impact the lives of producers, and introduce young designers to the processes of working with fair trade companies overseas. Just Trade is committed
to empowering young designers and is always on the look out for new designers to work with who will be an asset to our projects.
Just Trade
clothing,
jewellery and
accessories will be appearing on a number of catwalk shows this spring, first at the Cotton Club in Birmingham, followed by Loughborough University, and then supporting the launch of the new fashion label, Ethika, at the Custard Factory in Birmingham.
